Fashion Show Guidebook & Community Rules

Thank you to kittyluv2345 for originally compiling these rules, and the dress-up community for helping amend them!

Just some basic things for people to use for the fashion shows here on mara.

For all people who like to be fashion show hosts/judges;

-Make sure you have the time to host a complete show.

-Contestants like to have a prize, Mara isn't free and going to the lush fountain and buying new clothes adds up. Even if its 5k..its still better than nothing.

-If you aren't going to do the show or if something happens, let your contestants know. NO ONE APPRECIATES AN INACTIVE HOST.

-Please, put all information in the first main post of your topic. We don't like themes just all over the topic because then how is it organized? We have to look for it!

-I recommend you inform your potential contestants about the themes. It makes it easier for everyone because the contestants can sketch out possible looks before starting, which will make it easier for you, and it will make the show organized making the show end quicker.

-Please post the contestants in the first post of your show, we like to know who we are competing against. It might sound lame and stupid, but why don't you try it? Kind of hard Isn't it?

-If you want to make a fashion show and nobody joins, just self-boost, it is pitiful but still, this can confuse people when there's more than 1 fashion show up and running.

-While your making a fashion show don't just go and change the rules in the middle, if you don't put a specific rule down don't tell people they can't do that when it's not up there in the first place.

-When people are wanting to join a fashion show make the topic simple and easy to notice,don't make it hard. Just say 'Fashion show.' Or 'Ryans 3rd Annual Fashion Show.' Instead of something random like 'Beauty show,' yes you know it but its still annoying.

-Treat everyone fairly, if your a contest holder don't be rude to the contestants if they heard something wrong or did something wrong on accidents, it's just not right.

-Try not to be bias, even if your best friend is in it, have a fair approach.

For all people who enter the fashion shows;

-Read ALL of the host's first post. Some shows require if you saw the whole post to post like "OMG MATT" and I've seen people not get accepted because they didn't take the time to read a couple of paragraphs.

-If you know that you are not able to complete a fashion show, PLEASE let the host know so that she/he can know to exclude you. Hosts don't appreciate this at ALL.

-As your changing please look at the topic a few times to see if your not accidentally copying somebody else.It tends to happen a lot. Just step by right before your done. It saves a lot of time!

-It's fine to make a "Can someone please make a fashion show" topic once or twice a day, but when you do it five times in the hour, it gets pretty annoying.

-I recommend to NOT be in more than one fashion show at a time. It's extremely rude, and it just makes it easier for you to focus.

-If you get kicked out of a fashion show, I know you can get upset and angry but please do not report the board because you feel that the host's decision was not a good one. You AREN'T going to win every show because every person has a different taste. Respect the host's sense of style.

-Some people prefer short bio's of characters. As in explain how you became an animal or explain how and why you became this food. A short bio isn't just a sentence or two. It's 3-5 sentences. A short paragraph. It would help if you came up with something.

-If You join a fashion show and never come back if you will join say unenter. Don't go into a babbling rampage, we don't need to know your social life.

-This one is so basic, but be respectful to your competitors! It's so simple to be nice to a person on the INTERNET. It's the Internet for COL (Crying Out Loud).

Extra Tid-Bits

~As people are judging it's kind of hard for them to read some colors. As in white, yellow, cyan, magenta.So try toning your color down, maybe just for fashion shows. All I can say is that it hurts peoples eyes.

~Be a good sport. Don't be afraid to wish your competitors good luck.

~Some people don't like if you come into their fashion show and say,'Hey come check out mine after your done.' When by the time it's done yours is started or you stole one of their contestants.
